How to Migrate from Mailchimp to Mailzzy

The Mailchimp connector moves your subscribers from Mailchimp into Mailzzy, so you don't have to rebuild your list from scratch. You can run it once, or keep it syncing daily or weekly while you switch over.

What the Connector Moves

Unsubscribes are respected. If someone unsubscribes in Mailchimp later, the next sync unsubscribes them in Mailzzy. Contacts who are already unsubscribed in Mailzzy are never subscribed again.

Connect Mailchimp

In Mailzzy, go to Integrations and select Mailchimp.
Select Connect Mailchimp.
Sign in to your Mailchimp account and approve access. You don't need an API key.

Set Up the Import

Audiences: choose the Mailchimp audiences to import.
Map fields: match each Mailchimp merge field to a Mailzzy field or an existing custom attribute. Select Create an attribute if you need a new one.
Destination group: choose the Mailzzy group your contacts go into.
Sync frequency: choose One time only, Daily or Weekly.
Opt-in agreement: confirm your contacts agreed to receive your emails.

Select Preview import to see what will happen without changing anything, then select Start import.

Track the Import

The Importing from Mailchimp screen shows how many contacts have been processed. An import usually takes 20 to 25 minutes, whatever the size of your account. You can cancel it from the same screen, and choose to get an email after each successful sync.

After You Migrate

Add your sender and authenticate your domain.
Rebuild your key segments. You can describe them in plain language and let Mizo build them.
Recreate your templates and automations. These aren't imported.
Send a test email, then your first campaign. Increase your sending volume gradually to protect your sender reputation.

Disconnect Mailchimp

Disconnect Mailchimp from Integrations in Mailzzy. Contacts you've already imported stay in Mailzzy. Mailchimp doesn't let apps remove their own access, so also remove Mailzzy from the connected apps in your Mailchimp account.
